CARNIVAL OF VENICE
The Carnival of Venice, one of the most famous in the world, always starts 10 days before Ash Wednesday and it is during this period that the city of Venice best expresses its nature: theatrical scenes dedicated to parties, extravagance and transgression. The charm of the Venice Carnival undoubtedly comes from the traditional, highly refined costumes that transport visitors back in time. The magic of the carnival is further enhanced by the mysterious masks that cover the faces, giving free rein to the imagination.
DAY 1: LIDO DI JESOLO
Arrival in Lido di Jesolo in the late afternoon.
Check-in at the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 2: VENICE
After breakfast departure by coach to Punta Sabbioni and crossing by private boat to Venice to discover this unique city in the world, built on 118 small islands. Meet with the guide for a visit of the historical centre: Saint Mark’s Square with its Basilica, the bell tower, the Doge’s Palace (exterior view) and the Bridge of Sighs. Free afternoon to enjoy the carnival atmosphere and admire the traditional costumes, inspired by the ‘commedia dell’arte’, which are always very sumptuous.
Return to Punta Sabbioni by private boat. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
DAY 3: ISLANDS OF THE LAGOON
After breakfast departure for Punta Sabbioni and excursion to the Islands of the Lagoon by private boat.
You will start your tour with Murano, known as the Island of Glass since the end of the 13th century, when glass production transferred from Venice to prevent fires in the city. Murano glass is famous for its exceptional quality, colouring and method of manufacture. Visit one of the many glass factories on the island. Afterwards, stop at Burano, known for its canals lined with colourful houses, which give the alleys and the quays of the village a great cheerfulness and its needle lace, which has been practised since the 16th century.
Return to Venice and free afternoon to continue admiring the magnificent masks and costumes of the Carnival. In the late afternoon, return to Punta Sabbioni by private boat. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
DAY 4: RETURN
Breakfast at the hotel.
