Sicily and sunshine
DAY 1: PALERMO
Arrival in the area of Palermo and accommodation in hotel. Dinner and overnight.
DAY 2: SEGESTA, SELINUNTE AND AGRIGENTO
After breakfast, visit of the Doria Temple and the Greek Theatre of Segesta, before moving on to Selinunte to admire the ruins and the Acropolis which incorporates several temples within its magnificent fortifications. Continue the journey to Agrigento, dinner and overnight in hotel.
DAY 3: AGRIGENTO AND SYRACUSE
Breakfast in hotel. Start the day together with a local guide by visiting the archaeological Valley of Temples. Continue to Syracuse and accommodation in hotel. Dinner and overnight.
DAY 4: SYRACUSE AND TAORMINA
After breakfast explore the archaeological excavations; the Greek Theatre that was carved out of a rock, the Neapolis and the Temple of Apollo. Continue to Taormina or surroundings for accommodation in hotel. Dinner and overnight.
DAY 5: MOUNT ETNA AND TAORMINA
After breakfast departure for Mt. Etna, one of the highest and still active volcanoes in the world. The excursion begins from Zafferana Etnea where a cable-car will take you up to 2500 mt, but the most courageous can go on by jeep and then by foot to the top of the crater at 3323 mt. A stopover for your lunch will be taken at about 2.000 mt. of height at the so called “Silvestre-Crater”. Return to Taormina in the afternoon and visit the Roman Theatre. Dinner and overnight in hotel.
DAY 6: TAORMINA
After breakfast, you will have the whole day at your disposal. Dinner and overnight in hotel.
DAY 7: PALERMO, TINDARI AND CEFALÙ
After breakfast, you will leave Taormina and continue your journey to Palermo. Short stopover in Tindari for a walk trough out the picturesque Cefalù. Arrival during the evening in the capital of Sicily and accommodation in hotel. Dinner and overnight.
DAY 8: PALERMO AND HOME-JOURNEY
Breakfast in hotel and guided tour of the Cathedral of Monreale, full of Byzantine mosaics, and the Benedictine Cloister. In the afternoon departure for your home-journey.
