TRENTINO: Between Culture and Vineyards

A journey through nature, culture and taste, through the typical scents and flavours of the area accompanied by breathtaking landscapes, fascinating vineyards, historic buildings and contemporary museums.

Discover five of the area’s most renowned wines, namely Marzemino, Nosiola, Trentodoc, Müller Thurgau and Teroldego Rotaliano. Experience an intoxicating weekend in Trentino.

DAY 1: LAGARINA VALLEY, LAKE GARDA, TRENTO

Arrival in Lagarina Valley, characterised by its small villages, castles and vineyards, and meet with the local guide for a visit to a winery producing Marzemino, the area’s iconic wine. Marzemino was even praised by Mozart in Don Giovanni!

Continue to Valle dei Laghi to visit small farms that produce the native Nosiola wine and discover the fascinating history of Vino Santo, a precious ‘passito’ wine that is produced only in Trentino. At the end of the day, make a romantic stop at Lake Toblino where you can admire the famous Renaissance castle reflected in its waters.

Arrival in Trento, dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 2: TRENTO

Breakfast at the hotel and guided tour of a winery producing Trentodoc, the classic Trentino method par excellence born at the beginning of the 20th century.  Followed by a tour of the historic centre of the city with a stroll through the 16th-century streets, the frescoed buildings and the most glamorous shops. Lunch in a restaurant in the centre with typical local products.

The afternoon will be dedicated to visiting the MUSE-Museum of Natural Sciences, designed by the famous architect Renzo Piano. Afterwards, visit to one of the small farms in the hills surrounding the city, to taste a fine selection of Trentodoc classic method sparkling wine.

Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 3: CEMBRA VALLEY – MEZZOCORONA

After breakfast at the hotel, meeting with the guide and departure for Val Di Cembra, an area to the north-east of Trento known for its fascinating vineyard terraces where Müller Thurgau is cultivated.

After a visit to one of the area’s small farms, stroll through the vineyards to fully enjoy the panorama that winds its way between small streets and dry stone walls. Lunch in a restaurant in the hilly area around Lavis, to admire the expanse of vineyards of the Piana Rotaliana defined as “the most beautiful vineyard garden in Europe”. Last stop at a winery in Mezzocorona to taste the Teroldego Rotaliano, the prince of Trentino wines and the first DOC recognised in the history of production in the province.

Afterwards, home journey.
